AAU Gymnastics Team
Our AAU Program offers athletes the opportunity to compete in a supportive, low-pressure environment while continuing to build strong fundamentals. Training 2–3 days per week allows athletes to balance gymnastics with school and other activities.

What to Expect
The AAU Gymnastics program at IK Gymnastics is a competitive option with a lower time commitment compared to our higher-level team programs. Training takes place at our Main Facility, with athletes typically practicing 2–3 days per week, making this pathway well suited for families seeking a balance between competition, skill development, and outside commitments.

Practices emphasize strong fundamentals, routine development, and consistency in a supportive, team-oriented environment. While the AAU program is designed to be engaging and enjoyable, athletes are still expected to demonstrate focus, effort, and coachability. For some gymnasts, AAU also serves as a developmental pathway, building the skills and habits needed to potentially transition into the Xcel program in the future.
AAU Gymnastics Team Placement
The AAU Gymnastics Team is a competitive program and participation is by invitation only. Team placement is determined internally and is offered when an athlete demonstrates the appropriate skill readiness, consistency, focus, maturity, and ability to meet the expectations of a competitive training environment, and when space is available.

IK Gymnastics offers multiple training pathways to support a wide range of athlete goals and commitment levels. While recreational and developmental programs are designed to build strong fundamentals and prepare athletes for future opportunities, participation in these programs does not automatically result in an invitation to the AAU Team. Competitive team participation requires an increased training commitment from both the athlete and family.

Due to limited team space and the structured nature of the program, families are contacted by IK Gymnastics only when an athlete is ready to be considered for AAU Team placement. To ensure consistency and manage program capacity, team inquiries are not handled through general email requests.
